Shravan 2026 — the month to begin.
Shravan (Sawan) is the holiest month of the Hindu calendar, dedicated entirely to Lord Shiva. By tradition it is considered the most auspicious time of the whole year to begin wearing Rudraksha, to observe the Somvar (Monday) fasts, and to perform Abhishek. In 2026, Shravan runs July 30 – August 28 in North India (Purnimanta calendar) and August 13 – September 10 in South & West India (Amanta calendar).

Why Shravan matters for Rudraksha
The Shiva Purana holds that worship performed in Shravan carries magnified merit, and Rudraksha — held in tradition to have arisen from Shiva's tears — is most naturally first worn in his own month. Many devotees choose a Shravan Somvar as the day to wear a new bead for the first time, after a simple purification and the chanting of Om Namah Shivaya. We say this plainly: these are the traditions as the texts and practice hand them down. We make no promises of miracles — the meaning of the month is devotion, not transaction.
Beginning your first Rudraksha this Shravan
If this is your first bead, the Five Mukhi is the traditional starting point — the universal bead of daily wear and japa. Those whose intention is stability and prosperity often begin with the Seven Mukhi. For a complete practice, a 108-bead Japa Mala serves the month's mantra recitation. And if you are unsure, that is exactly what we are here for — take the two-minute guided choice or simply message us.
We ship express worldwide from Kathmandu. To receive your Rudraksha before the first Somvar of Shravan, we recommend ordering at least 7–10 days ahead — earlier for remote regions. Message us on WhatsApp and we will confirm the delivery window for your country before you pay. Pashupatinath energization can be completed before dispatch on request.
If this month passes before you are ready, nothing is lost — the next great occasion is Maha Shivaratri, on 6 March 2027, and any Monday or Pradosh has long been held a fitting day to begin.
