A small atelier in Kathmandu.
We sort Rudraksha by hand, by daylight, on a wooden table in Nepal — and send them to the world.
Who we are
Kathmandu Rudraksha is a small Nepali operation — not a celebrity-backed marketing chain, not a chatbot routing on a Shopify template. We source Rudraksha directly from the Arun and Tamur valleys of eastern Nepal, hand-sort them in Kathmandu, and ship worldwide on WhatsApp confirmation. The difference between our prices and the bigger sites isn't quality. It's that we don't pay for billboards or brand ambassadors. The saving goes to you.
Where our beads come from
Authentic Nepali Rudraksha grow on a single belt in eastern Nepal — the slopes above the Arun, Tamur, and lower Dudh Kosi rivers, in Sankhuwasabha and Bhojpur districts. The trees here grow slowly, at altitude, in mineral-rich soil. Beads from this belt are denser, more deeply ridged, and more pigmented than those from Indonesia or India. We work with growers we've known for years and pay them fairly above the going rate, because the bead is only as good as the place it grew.
How we work
- Every bead reviewed individually under daylight for mukhi clarity, ridge depth, density
- Photos sent under daylight before you pay — you only commit once you've seen the bead
- Optional X-ray laboratory certification by an independent Kathmandu facility
- Lifetime authenticity guarantee — full refund if any bead fails third-party authenticity testing
- Optional Pran Pratishtha (energisation) at Pashupatinath with video confirmation
Our promise
You message us on WhatsApp. A real person in Kathmandu replies, usually within hours. We send photos of what's available right now. You choose. We pack, post, share tracking. If anything is wrong, we refund — no fine print, no expiry. That's the whole brand. The bead, sorted by daylight, at a fair price, with no theatre.
